Was really inspired by the avatar movie that time. So planned to do one myself. Modelled her from a generic female basemesh which i created a long time ago.
Sculpted out the details in zbrush and used polypaint to texture the skin. Loved the avatar eyes basically and took a lot of time detailing her eyes. Then i extracted out different maps and painted them off in photoshop again.
I tried sub surface for the first time on this. Generated different coloured maps for different layers of the skin. Used mental ray subsurface shader for this along with displacement to get furthur details.
Then rendered out in different passes for different lights, specular, reflection etc, and composited them in photoshop.
