Ancient relics


Started off with sculpting randomly using the primitives in zbrush. Didnt want the relics to be in a perfect shape. So got some random human shapes on it. Then i started off painting few texture maps of rocks which i then applied randomly for different objects in the scene. The objects were also unwrapped. The texture being random with a lot of grains and dirt helped me to get away from the seams, though they were there they werent seen so much.
Mental ray materials were used for this. i switched on physical sun and made a lot of tweaks in it to get realism, added few more fill lights from different sides to fill the darks and then rendered out in different passes.
For the night scene i wanted light to animate so i placed a volume light with a glow, i used different blue lights from around the sets as fill lights from the moon and the atmosphere.
